Larry serves as our Services Director.

Art was born and raised in Iowa.  He has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a Masters in Procurement and Acquisition Management.  He worked in the family business of concrete ready mix, sand and gravel and crushed stone.  He served 7.5 years in the Air Force as a Supply and Logistics officer and has 10 years construction experience.  He joined Surface Solutions in February of 2003 and has 21 years experience in exterior building services.  He’s a member of the Sealant Waterproofing Restorations Institute (SWRI) and the International Window Cleaners Association.  He’s been married for 34 years and he and his wife have 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, 2 grandchildren with a third on the way.  

In July, 1985, Sam purchased Sparkling Clean Window Company and began cleaning windows by himself.  he grew the business through hard work, attention to detail and a strong commitment to professional customer service built on relationships.  His involvement in organizations such as the International Window Cleaning Association (IWCA) has enable Sam to learn from and emulate the leaders in the industry from around the globe.  He was elected to serve on the IWCA Board of Directors in 2002, served as its President in 2007 and finished his term on the board in 2008.  He also served on the ANSI?IWCA I-14.1 “Window Cleaning Safety Standard” Committee for several years.  He participated with OSHA in the development of the “Walking-Working Surfaces” final rule, effective January 17, 2017.  He has been an active member of the ANSI/ASSP Z359 “Fall Protection and Fall Restraint” Committee since 2012.

By the way, the picture of Sam above was taken in 1986 and illustrates methods that we do not utilize today.  We thought we were working safely, but have learned a lot along the way!
